One of the most important of all observations in the U.S. is National Financial Literacy Month. April is Financial Literacy Month and it gives financial experts, financial coaches, and money coaches an opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise with people who aren't financially literate, thus helping them to better understand the importance of effectively managing their finances.

Financial Literacy Month has only been around since 2000, the JumpStart Coalition advocated for Financial Literacy Month for Youth and over time, the U.S. Congress support their efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2003.
In 2004 the U.S. Senate threw their support behind the month of April being Financial Literacy Month and ultimately the U'S' House of Representatives encouraged President Bush to acknowledge April as Financial Literacy Month and in 2005 he did so.
