Of all of the holidays celebrated in the United States the most important is Veterans Day. Without the women and men who served in the uniformed services, we would not be able to live with liberty, freedom, or our way of life. Paul Lawrence Vann, Lieutenant Colonel USAF, (Ret) shares a bit of history about Veterans Day and what inspired him to serve over 20 years in the USAF.
This episode focuses on and salutes the brave women and men who served in the military and are alive, they're our veterans. Paul Lawrence Vann is a veteran having served over 20 years in the USAF.
Veterans Day was originally named Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, which was the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.
Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans living or dead but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
Salute a veteran and thank them for their service. Freedom is not free and can only be sustained through vigilance and a commitment by those who believe in their country.
